Properties: White granular, rod or powder, odorless, easy to absorb moisture, solubility in water is 432g at 25°C, and 614g at 100°C. 1g is soluble in 0.25ml 2% hydrochloric acid, 1.3ml ethanol, 2ml glycerol, easily soluble in acetone, and a large amount of water is added to produce oxygenated zinc chloride. Its aqueous solution is acidic to litmus, with a pH of about 4, a relative density of 2.907, and a melting point of about 290℃, boiling point 732℃, toxic, LD50 (rat, intravenous) 60～90mg/kg, corrosive.

Uses: Test secondary alcohols, dehydrating agents for organic synthesis, catalysts, condensation agents.
